Thank you for sharing this piece - it's reminded me of just how much my spirit has varied throughout this pandemic. There were moments of excitement - vaccines going on trial, a reduction in the infection rate (in the UK). But now, it all seems to be moments of dashed hopes - infections are skyrocketing again, the economy is in the toilet, and even if we do find a vaccine only 10% of the world's population will be able to have it in its first year.
The ups and downs leave me depleted, and yet, every so often, I still dare to hope. That's the human spirit.
